Cauliflower as a very healthy food enriched with essential vitamins and minerals is favorite to many of us. During its season, I try to keep at least one recipe with cauliflower every day in my family menu. Best Steamed Cauliflower Recipe is however one different than the other recipes discussed here.


Why baked? The reason is, as the cauliflower is boiled or cooked more of its vitamins and minerals are lost. So, in this baked garlic cauliflower the florets of cauliflowers are slightly boiled and drained out of water even before fork tendered.

  • 1 medium size cauliflower
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread crumb
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4th teaspoon white pepper


  1. Cut cauliflower florets and boil until fork-tender.
  2. Beat the eggs. In a separate small bowl take bread crumbs, sunflower oil, chopped garlic, and cilantro. Mix them well.
  3. Coat with flour. Then dip in egg and finally coat with bread crumbs. Place in the paper-lined tray.
  4. Baked for 45 minutes at 200c in preheated oven. Bake until golden brown.

Step 1

Cut the cauliflower leaves and separate the white flower portion. Make medium size approximately 30 florets.

Step 2

Boil the florets of cauliflower florets in a boiling pan for 5 minutes. Add salt as the water starts boiling. Take out the pan from the burner before cauliflower florets are fork-tendered.

Step 3

Drain out the water and take the slightly boiled florets in a strainer to make sure all waters are drained out. Spread sprinkle of white pepper over the florets.

Step 4

Beat the eggs in a small bowl and mix the yolk and egg white well. In a separate small bowl take bread crumbs, sunflower oil, chopped garlic, and cilantro. Mix them well.

Step 5

Now each of the florets is to be covered with flour, egg, and bread crumb mix. The first role is the floret over the flower and then role it in the egg to cover all sides. Lastly role it over the bread crumb to cover it with bread crumb on all sides. Florets will look like golden triangles.

Step 6

As you do this pre-heat the oven for 10 minutes. Put the cauliflower florets in the paper-lined tray of the electric oven. For better and even baking lined up them in rows and columns.

Now insert the tray with lined-up florets in the oven. Set temperature to 220° degree and bake for 40-45 minutes. Keep an eye on the tray, so that the florets are not overbaked. When the color starts to become brown take out the tray from the oven.

You will feel the aroma of the best-steamed cauliflower recipe. Yummy baked garlic cauliflower florets are ready to eat.

Serve as snacks with Honey mastered sauce and Chili sauce.
