Chicken bhuna recipe is yet another variety of chicken curry, which is specially cooked with thick gravy, for eating paratha and naan-roti or tortilla. This item is more demanded in the restaurant, where people eat more paratha and naan-roti than rice. Especially, at night during the break off a long journey, such a delicious meal makes you fresh and energized for further trip.
Cooking of chicken bhuna is slightly different than chicken curry. Here, more onions are used to make thick gravy with other pasted spices and oil. Then chicken pieces are added and cooked as similar to another chicken curry.

Ingredients for chicken bhuna recipe
1 kg chicken
1 tsp hot spices powder
4 tbsp onion paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp garlic paste
½ cup yogurt
1 tbsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin powder
50 gm cilantro leaves, sliced
Process for chicken bhuna recipe
Cut the chicken into medium size and wash it very well. Clean it very well so that no fat remains with the chicken pieces.
Heat the oil in a pan on the burner over medium heat. If you have an induction cooktop, use this for cooking. This is very safe for cooking.
Put onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste, chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder to the oil. Stir it. After 2 minutes add 1 cup of hot water. Add chicken pieces and cover with a lid. Cook until the water becomes dry.
Stir it and add hot spice powder, yogurt, salt, and another 1 cup of water to the chicken pieces. When the portion of water level and chicken is the same turn off the burner. Transfer the chicken bhuna in a serving dish and spread the cilantro leaves over the chicken.
Chicken bhuna recipe is ready to eat. Serve chicken bhuna recipe with paratha or naan roti or tortilla or rice or pulao.
