  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons clarified butter (ghee)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon black cumin seeds (nigella seeds)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

    1. Wash the rice in plenty of water.

    2. In a pot, bring the water to a boil and add the salt.

    3. Add the rice and cook for 18 minutes, or until done.

    4. Drain the rice and set it aside.

    5. Heat clarified butter in a large pot over medium heat and add the onion.

    6. Add the black cumin seeds and fry for a few seconds.

    7. Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for a few more seconds.
