Tilapia is a very common fish in the most part of the world. Because of its easy availability, some people try to dig out some clue for pointing out any type of harmful effect of this fish. But actually, this is a tasty fish which is of course, less costly due to its availability. It is also one small kind of fish with less bone. There are many tilapia fry recipes. Here I described two recipes; one cooked in the oven and another one in the normal burner. Both are easy and simple recipes. Hope you will like the two recipes.

Ingredients for crispy tilapia fry recipes

  • 1 lb tilapia
  • 30g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon butter

For Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 4 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry chili, sliced
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, sliced

Process

  • Cut the tilapia into small pieces and wash them very well.
  • Mix flour, egg, oil, salt very gently. Mix butter and milk separately and add to the flour mixture. Keep the mixture in the freezer for half an hour.
  • Preheat the oven at 200c for 10 minutes.
  • After half an hour dip the pieces of fish and grilled them at 200c for 10-15 minutes.
  • Arrange the fishes in a serving dish.
  • Mix all sauce ingredients and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Spread the sauce over the fish.
  • The crispy tilapia with chili is ready to serve.
  • Serve the crispy fried tilapia recipes with tortilla or pulao or rice.

Ingredients for whole tilapia fry recipe

  • 500 g whole tilapia
  • 2 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoon onion paste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5-6 pieces green chili
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, sliced
  • 1 cup oil

Process

  • Clean tilapia fish and cut into both sides with a sharp knife. Scratch the fish with a sharp knife.
  • Mix fish sauce, lemon juice, turmeric powder, and salt. Put the spice mixture into the fillet and both side of the fish.
  • Marinate the fish for 25-30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan and fry the fish over medium heat until golden brown.
  • Take out the fish in a serving dish from the pan.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan and add ginger paste, onion paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, green chili, cilantro slice, and tomato sauce to the oil.
  • Cook this for 3-5 minutes.
  • Spread the spice sauce over the fried fish.
  • Whole tilapia fry is ready to serve.
  • Serve the tilapia with rice, pulao or tortilla.
